For those of you who follow me on Twitter and actually read my tweets, you should already know that I received my beautiful new DELL XPS 13 Ultrabook around 2 weeks ago or so. After using it for a while, I would say that I'm pretty happy with it.

OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2467M CPU @ 1.60GHz (4 CPUs), ~1.6GHz
Memory: 4GB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
Video card: Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000
Sound: High Definition Audio + Waves MaxxAudio® 4

- Whole design of laptop is very sleek
- Really light and easy to carry around, especially when I suddenly have to move my laptop to another location in my house
- The display of the screen is very clear and is good for watching movies
- Has a USB 3.0 port for high-speed transfers
- Boots up in around 8 seconds, just as the DELL website said it would
- Back-lit keyboard has the right amount of brightness and doesn't hurt the eyes
- Software for built-in webcam comes with a variety of effects and the ability to share your screen, so you don't have to download any third-party software when screen-sharing. (Great for live streaming!)
- Quality of sound is great: the Waves enhancements do their job well and the DELL Audio controller provides a lot of customizations that allow you to control the sound that comes out of your laptop speakers/headphones
- Provides a lot of options for battery management

- You can feel heat on the keyboard after using the laptop for more than an hour or so
- Sweat and dirt stick very easily to the surface of the keyboard; need to wipe it frequently
- When looking at the screen from certain angles, especially from the sides, the screen looks like it's fading and unclear
- The sound-quality of the built-in microphone sounds muffled
- The FastAccess software (face recognition software that ties your passwords to your facial profile) that came with the laptop was bothersome because it displayed another 'user' on the login screen that could not be removed unless the software was uninstalled
- There was an audio distortion issue that came with enabling Net Guard on McAfee
(I had the same issue with our XPS 8300 Desktop computer. Not sure if this is a DELL thing or just an issue with incompatible software but disabling Net Guard solved the issue quickly)
- There are only two USB ports, so you'll need to buy an extension if you need to plug in more than two devices and this can get pretty messy
- No CD drive or SD card reader, need to buy an external one

(I've only been using it while it's plugged to a source of electricity, so I can't comment on the battery life just yet. Will probably update this in the future)

ACGHK Figurine Sightings

2010-08-03 18:45

Over at the Good Smile Company display~

I went to the convention again today because my sister wanted to see what it was like, so I decided to take more pictures of some figurines over there. (I didn't have that much money anyway 8DD;;)

Of course, my favorite display was from Good Smile Company, which is known for manufacturing and marketing many popular figurines. (・∀・)

Here we have alternate Saber from Fate/Stay Night

K-ON! nendoroids were just simply adorable. I wanted to get my hands on some but they were quite expensive; about HK$300/US$43 each character. The box includes their respective instruments.

Azu-nyaaan~ I could've bought this figurine bundled with the Yui one shown in the picture after Mio for HK$250, but I realized that I didn't have space in my room. My sister just told me to take a picture instead. Azu-nyan looks so adorable though. I feel a bit regretful. ;w;

Woaaaah! Panty shot! Unintentional, really. I couldn't get a better picture of her with the lighting and stuff. The other one I took made Mio look somewhat demonic, but hey, fanservice is good, right? xD

Here we has Yui with her Guitaaa~ I don't like her as much as Mio and Azu-nyan. LOL xD

They also had a Miku Append figurine from Max Factory, which totally blew me away, either because it was so pretty or because it had a heavy pricetag (as shown in the picture) 8DD;;

Just a closer look at the very expensive figurine.

Now on to Square Enix

Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII. She's waaay better than the Final Fantasy X-2 girls. She's like the lighter version of Paine, except with longer hair and cooler equipment and clothes.

SNAAAAAAKE! He looks older now. I'd rather have a younger version figurine of him. Sorry, old man.:\

Chocobo~ I wanted to buy it but it was kinda expensive too. HK$70
My sister told me to take a picture instead again. TTATT

My sister's comment on Sephiroth: "OMG Talk about gay!" I laughed. Hard.
I also find it quite amusing that they decided to put the plushies right next to him. xD

Dante from Devil May Cry, if I'm correct. Two different versions of him, me thinks. owo

Now away from SEnix.

Mermaid looking women are hot. ( =w=)b*
You can see a sexy-posing Asuka from Evangelion at the back too~

Various Iron Man 2 figurines. These would probably be really, really, really, really, really expensive judging from the amount of detail put into making them.

An example of the detail. You can clearly see the features of Robert Downey Jr.'s face. Also, pay attention to the scrapes on his armor. Pretty neat, huh? :3

RC Car Happiness!

2010-06-27 19:19

I've been wanting to buy a new RC car for so long and I finally decided to go ahead and do it. I've always liked RC cars (heck, I like almost anything RC).

I present to you
QR-07 チョロQ CHOROQHYBRID! Remocon Type Nissan GT-R by Takara Co.

The packaging is quite plain as you can see. I'm guessing it's because they're either cutting costs or trying to save the environment. Probably a mix of the two. xD

It comes with a tiny remote control. People with big hands would probably have a hard time with this. My hands are already quite small and I'm having a hard time getting used to its shape and size.

You can see some of the things it can do on the back of it. owo

You charge the car by attaching it to the remote. 4 AAA batteries are needed for the remote itself.

The orange cylinder-looking object is apparently a bigger wheel you can use to replace one of the rear ones so that it can do some interesting stunts. Have yet to try it. Maybe when I get my lazy butt of the computer. xDD

Probably the most exciting thing about it is the fact that it comes with a button that's similar to a turbo button. 8D

Trial run desu.

*fails at playing with RC properly* xDD

Today was quite tiring though. My parents decided to go on a sudden shopping trip. =w=;;

Kran carrying a whole lot of stuff. orz
It's hard being the youngest. .__.
